Hey Guys & Gals!

My name is Laura, but my favs have called me Lolo, or Lo, for short my whole life.  I’m a 30-something travel addict and second generation former-expat.  No, I wasn’t a military brat but I’ve been around the block.

I grew up in the Middle East for the better part of 14 years and have traveled all over the globe always looking for the next extraordinary experience.  I may not be living out of a van or rocking life like a Red Bull commercial but it feels pretty adventurous to me.

Sometimes, I do crazy shit that makes me anxious but I do it anyways.    Hence the name, The Anxious Adventurer, among other reasons.  I have signed up for things I had no business doing and those were the thrills I relish the most.

Travel is the beat of my heart.  So much so that I have tried to reinvent my life to pursue it more.  I published a handful of travel articles with Matador Network in 2015 and there was a sharp learning curve.   I have not gotten this far alone.  There has been a ton of soul searching and I have more support from my family and friends than I deserve.

I feel truly blessed to have all these wonderful co-conspirators cheering me on.  Because they mean so much to me, and because I have recently taken up photography as a passion, I wanted to share my experiences.

If you get a kick out of it – great.  Maybe I can pass along a useful tip or two.  I’m just trying this blog thing out for the first time and it’s gonna evolve with me.  I hope you’ll stick around and see where it goes.  There’s some good material coming your way.

I’ve visited 32 out of 217 countries. That is 14.75%.
